Installations Technician

The AquaBioTech Group is seeking to recruit several individuals to work on the construction, installation and upgrade of existing and new aquatic recirculation systems and supportive equipment. These systems are for research or the commercial production of fish in both freshwater and marine conditions.

SYNOPSIS OF POSITION OFFERED

A number of positions within the AquaBioTech Group have arisen for suitably qualified persons to work as Installations Technicians on a variety of projects within the Group’s diverse portfolio.

• The position includes the building and installation of recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS) in our research facilities in Malta and commercial RAS unit for different clients in locations around the world.

Reporting directly to the Head of RAS installation and maintenance, the position is demanding requiring a person who is highly motivated, methodical and organised. The selected person must be prepared to work to very tight deadlines in isolated and multi-functional projects and in conjunction with a team of international staff.

Qualifications Overview

The successful candidate is likely to have previous experience working hands-on in installation and engineering. Experienced operations and building technician’s graduate candidates are preferred, but similar fields or others with relevant work experience are also encouraged to apply.

A track record of successfully working with electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems and equipment would be an advantage.

The selected candidate will have to speak and write English fluently and knowledge of any other European languages a benefit, whilst languages such as Spanish, Norwegian, Chinese, Russian or Arabic would be considered an asset, although not essential.

The selected candidate must have a clear EU passport with no travel restrictions or legal convictions and be in possession of a clean driving licence. Applicants must be prepared to travel at short notice as part of international assignments the company is awarded. Additional operator’s licenses for specific construction equipment and/or heavy goods vehicles would be beneficial.

Financial Package

The successful candidate will be offered a long-term, fixed-term contract with the company. The starting package offered for this position will be structured largely upon the chosen candidate, reflecting the experience the candidate brings to the company, but also in line with the cost of living in Malta and could include an accommodation package, if required.
