Sustainable Livelihoods
AquaBioTech Group is experienced in stakeholder analysis and community participation in fisheries development. We use a bottom up approach to ensure that development is sustainable and driven by the needs of stakeholders. We organise training sessions and workshops for fishermen, fishing communities and cooperative associations, as well as provision of assistance to authorities for institutional development and re-organisation.
Artisanal Fisheries
Vessel re-design and development of fishing methods for artisanal fishermen, as well as data collection, price & catch analysis and managing of fishing groups / fisheries, particularly bioeconomic analysis. Moreover, we are involved in Monitoring Control and Surveillance (MCS) of fishing operations, electronic and radar surveillance methods.
Fishery Assessments - Preliminary Analysis and Full Assessment
For both industrial and artisanal fisheries either data rich or poor AquaBioTech Group can undertake a complete assessment of the marine resources and fish stocks for compensation, sustainability and other purposes for example. Using modelling techniques we can predict bioeconomic interactions in the fishery. We are experienced with sustainable principles such as the MSC and Marine Aquarium Council (MAC) for ornamental fisheries.
Fishing Company - Establishment and Operation
We can provide assistance with the creation of an investment plan, fleet development, fishing vessel design, licensing, export and all associated fishing company development. Fishing methods, on-board handling, traceability, technologies, research and analysis of techniques and efficiency are also some of the services we provide.
Our diverse personnel skills base provides complete feasibility studies, business plans and five-year financial plans.
Seafood Processing - Factory Design and Operations
AquaBioTech Group has a team of production and quality experts that provide complete solutions for fish and shrimp processing facility start-up to operation.
This includes:
• Processing plant design / expansion / new species
• HACCP planning, ISO certification, traceability, GMPs and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Equipment lists / budget, staffing of facilities and recruitment
• Value-adding processing development i.e. ready meals, battering, fresh and high value sushi
